A woman has been caught and jailed after attempting to smuggle 115g of methamphetamine worth up to $115,000 into Tasmania in her underpants.
Alissa Margaret Moore, 36, pleaded guilty to trafficking in methamphetamine.
In comments on passing sentence, published by the Supreme Court, Justice Stephen Estcourt said Moore flew to Melbourne and back on May 1 last year.
On her return to Launceston Airport, she was met by police from the Drug Investigation Service and a sniffer dog.
After a positive detection by the dog, Moore was searched and 115 grams of methamphetamine was found in a condom in her underpants.
The judge noted the drugs would be worth $115,000 if sold in 0.1 gram “points” at $100 a point.
